    Installation issues

Error message when attempting to install the plug-in:
Site error: the file /home/azhforum/public_html/lurkingmastermind/includes/functions_vbseo.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_4.4.so to be installed by the site administrator.
Everything was uploaded in BINARY mode via CuteFTP and then I checked that the file sizes matched between the .so files in the ioncube upload folder and the ioncube dir on the forum root.

Please can someone help me whilst I go make a cup of tea?

EDIT: I'm using RC8 Ioncube version and forum is running vBulletin 3.6.4.

    Forum URL is: http://lurkingmastermind.com/index.php

You will need to download the IonCube 4.4 version from the site below since it wasn't available in the vBSEO pack already but because of it's size.

ioncube_loader_lin_4.4.so is in the pack and was uploaded. Are we talking about a different file?

If you have that file in your ioncube directory and are still getting that error, then your server probably has an older version of ionCube loaded via PHP.INI and that will override your uploaded copy. Ask you host to upgrade to the latest ionCube loaders on your server.

Thanks. I asked them - twice. And both times they gave me a link to this:

    Cerberus Helpdesk :: Support Center

So I tried to follow the instructions. I uploaded a much larger ioncube dir to the server, once again in Binary mode:

Then I added the following line "zend_extension = /home/username/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_4.4.so" to my php.ini file on the second line below [PHP] and no change.

MAybe I'm doing something wrong. Should "zend_extension = /home/username/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_4.4.so" not be at least partially relevant to the server it's on?

Yes, it needs to be the full, actual, path to your location. That is just an example path.

The "username" should probably be your username on your server. And it looks like your ioncube directory is named "ioncube_loaders_lin_x86" instead of "ioncube" like in their example.

Your host should be able to tell you the exact physical path to your web directory.

Okay, so I got it installed but now I have a problem. Everythig was fine. My links all got SEO'ed, then I got greedy. I tried to install the sitemap and didn't get very far. I got error messages on it so I figured I would take it down and try again another day with a fresher head Upon uninstalling the sitemap the forums stopped working. All SEO links 404'ed. Homepage was fine, new posts was fine, but any thread of user was a 404 page and "URL not available".

Disabling vBSEO in the product list fixes it. Enabling vBSEO breaks it again. Any suggestions as to why this is a problem? Note, my .htaccess file remans unchanged. I reuploaded a back up before doing anything with the sitemap.

I just tried uninstalling the vBSEO product and installing it again but the problem persists.

You should upload default vBSEO's .htaccess file in your forums folder (you don't need to change it since it already includes rewrite rules for Sitemap Generator as well).

Thank you. That did it. So I should be able to install the sitemap now without making any changes to the htaccess file?
