    Installation

OK, I guess I fell like an idiot because I have had trouble getting this installed. Ran the compatibility test, everything was fine. Followed all the instructions to load 2.4.0 and when I was done, could not access my forum, all I would get was a blank page on my forum. Put back my old .htaccess file and everything went back to what it was like before, meaning my forum could be accessed.

Did the install totally from scratch again, even though it seemed clear the problem was the htaccess file or something in it. Second time, all I would get was an index list of my directory. This time when I went to put everything back, I couldn't. Not matter what I did, clearing cache, hard f5 refresh etc. Even with putting back old htaccess file nothing worked, could not access the forum. Could not get into VB admin,.... nothing.

Called VB and they said files were corrupted and I had to re-install (went from vb 3.53 to 3.5.4 in the process) and they also had me delete VBSEO from plugins, etc.

    Everything was back to normal.

Now, I am deathly afraid to try this again. Especially on a Friday. It must be something simple but I cannot figure it out. I don't want to ask for my money back... I want to make it work.... because I firmly believe in the product and the importance of what it can do.

Any suggestions? Can I pay a fee to have it installed? Help!!!

Same problem here. Blank pages all round. Seems to be related to the .htaccess file.

Up and running, my mistake was uploading files in ascii. Documented but overlooked by me on installs. Thanks for the great support, Oleg!

I did the same thing. I had my upload set to auto. Changed it Binary and it worked. Guess thats why he Used BOLD RED letters when he said to install in binary mode.
