    Angry Install Issues...

    The install instructions that come with vBSEO are worthless! Luckily I saw an answer to my problem in this forum or else I would have wasted my entire evening.

    No where does it say anything about HAVING to run vbseocp.php (it says it is optional) nor does it say to copy your key (which looks like it is installed) back into the manager to get it to turn green.

    Sheesh!

    If you don't do this, you can't get vBulletin to load and you can't even access vB's control panel.

    B. Go to your ADMIN CP > 'Plugin System' > 'Manage Products' > Click on [Add/Import Product]
    1. Browse to the 'docs' folder of this installation and open 'crawlability_vbseo.xml', Click 'Import'
    C. Optional Step - Define a custom position for your copyright statement:
    Enter the following code in your footer template:
    <!--VBSEO_COPYRIGHT-->
    D. Optional Step - If you would like to set up your URLs using the interface (vbseocp.php):
    1. CHMOD 666 the 'vB-root/includes/config_vbseo.php' file
    2. Using your browser, visit: http://www.yoursite.com/vB-root/vbseocp.php
    3. For security purposes CHMOD 644 back your 'config_vbseo.php' file after configuring vBSEO

    You are right - these are the old instructions. The installation process evolved in 3.0.0 and the new instructions will be refined in the next build.

    If you don't do this, you can't get vBulletin to load and you can't even access vBulletin's control panel.
    That shouldn't happen. Even if you don't run the vbseocp.php. Strange... were you able to get it working properly?

    I had to load my cuteftp proggy and change the chmod on that file and run it. After I entered a password and figured out the key thing, vb worked (I could see my main forum page instead of an error in such and such a line).

    I do have this problem though:

    Forums all "messed up" after install...
