Install Error: requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_4.3.so

Ok. We had this all working as we got ready to move all of our forums to vBulletin. Then we started over again and did a fresh import of all our messages and users. next was reinstalling VBSEO. All the files were already on the server but VBSE was not showing up in the plugin manager. So to register it I went to add/import and ran crawlability_vbseo.xml. Now I have:

Site error: the file /var/www/html/forums/vbseo.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_4.3.so to be installed by the site administrator.


I have checked via FTP and this file exists in the ioncube directory. I even re-uploaded in binary mode but still get this error.
