Previously on my old server, whenever I send commbulletin emails, the serverload increased from <1.0 to upto 5. The queries went from 18 to 24. I decided to move to a dedicated server and now the serverload increased from <1.0 to 70+
I have put all the commands in httpd.conf and yet I get such a huge increase in serverload.
I made a similiar post a few months ago and Juan Muriente answered:Based on the data displayed in your homepage, vBSEO adds two (2) queries, not three (3). At a nominal load of .3 (in apache) the first query would add approximately .001 secs. overhead and the second, being the most "expensive", is the retrieval of members usernames, and adds approximately .01 secs. in post-processing time.Yet, I am not seeing this "normal" increase in load, I am seeing gigantic increase in load. What's causing it? I have submitted an optimization request at vbulletin and did what they asked me to and yet it's still the same.
You can save the most "expensive" query by disabling member rewrites. However, we've seen that the impact is negligible, even on overloaded servers. Your best bet is using the rewrite rules in httpd.conf instead of .htaccess in which case I need to give you some special rules, please pm me for more information on this approach.
Current result in top after sending commbulletin:
top - 20:53:57 up 4 days, 17:47, 1 user, load average: 100.45, 53.75, 30.28
and increasing
