    I really do not understand.

Previously on my old server, whenever I send commbulletin emails, the serverload increased from <1.0 to upto 5. The queries went from 18 to 24. I decided to move to a dedicated server and now the serverload increased from <1.0 to 70+

I have put all the commands in httpd.conf and yet I get such a huge increase in serverload.

I made a similiar post a few months ago and Juan Muriente answered:
Based on the data displayed in your homepage, vBSEO adds two (2) queries, not three (3). At a nominal load of .3 (in apache) the first query would add approximately .001 secs. overhead and the second, being the most "expensive", is the retrieval of members usernames, and adds approximately .01 secs. in post-processing time.

You can save the most "expensive" query by disabling member rewrites. However, we've seen that the impact is negligible, even on overloaded servers. Your best bet is using the rewrite rules in httpd.conf instead of .htaccess in which case I need to give you some special rules, please pm me for more information on this approach.
Yet, I am not seeing this "normal" increase in load, I am seeing gigantic increase in load. What's causing it? I have submitted an optimization request at vbulletin and did what they asked me to and yet it's still the same.

Current result in top after sending commbulletin:
    top - 20:53:57 up 4 days, 17:47, 1 user, load average: 100.45, 53.75, 30.28

    and increasing

And it only happens with commbulletin?

And I assume if you disable vbSEO and run commbulletin, load levels are low?

    Emin,

Try incorporating the changes I've posted here. Let me know if it helps with your load issue.

    Hi,

I have tried and no success :(

Maybe there is something wrong with my httpd configuration:

    RewriteEngine On

    RewriteRule ^/(sitemap.*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ /vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} /(admincp|modcp|clientscript|cpstyles|images)/
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ $1 [L]

    RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !vbseourl=
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !chat
    RewriteRule ^/(.*\.php)$ /vbseo.php?vbseourl=$1&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]

    RewriteRule ^/(archive/.*)$ /vbseo.php?vbseourl=$1&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]

    RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}%{REQUEST_FILENAME}index.php -f
    RewriteRule ^(.*)/$ $1/index.php [L]

    RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}%{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}%{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule ^/(.+)$ /vbseo.php?vbseourl=$1&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]

    Thanks in advance

Okay, I have tried again today. I have disabled rewrite email, I have disabled rewriting memberlist and profile. I have reverted the changes made in commbull.php. I have tried sending by 100 instead of the usual 300 and yet, the queries went from 20 tot 24, the serverload increased for <1 to 50+

I just don't get it. Something must be wrong here.

Hmm.. but if you have reverted the changes, it means that it works in original configuration. And still causes the huge server load? May be it is not related to vBSEO?

Hmm yes, the only thing I haven't done so far is disabeling vbseo altoghether but that doesn't make sense.

I think it has to do with the new server but I cannot trace the specific problem? :(
