The installation instructions are featured in the Announcement thread.
From memory;
1) Turn off your forums.
2) Remove the vB SEO product
3) Backup your vbseocp.php files
4) Upload the files in BINARY
5) Install the product
6) Upload your vbseocp.php files
7) Turn on your forums.

Yes, you should upload a new config file too and then restore your settings from saved xml file to get configuration back.
