    All threads go by ID.
When you move a thread with a redirect, vb directs it as it saved a record of the old thread and does a refresh to the new threadID.

If you chose not to leave a vb redirect (recommended), it keeps that same thread id, with a new title or move, and does a 301 to that resource.

sorry, i meant if the thread title is changed, not if the forum for it is changed

    ie old url is

    site.com/f2/threadnum-name/

new thread name would make it

    site.com/f2/threadnum-newname/

if someone goes to a link from "name" would they get a 404 or would they be redirected?
