Wouldnt it mess up the incomming links? I have just spend a couple of grands in building links :(

my url structure is like this : indiabroadband.net/bsnl-broadband/2954-upload-problem-bsnl-type-ii-modem.html

and if i change it to like it is here on this forum wont it change to :indiabroadband.net/f123/upload-problem-bsnl-type-ii-modem-2954.html

And in this case what happens to the links pointing to the previous url? would the page not loose search engine rankings due to the fact that there will be no incomming links to the new url's :((

Some one help me out of this please :(

The problem is that this is how I have had it from the very begning and its a year and a half old forum now and when I first got vbseo for it the vbseocp didint have that option in there so I had to choose the url structure using the given options in there :( and since last one year I have spent shit loads of money in link building and the problem is mine is a very small niche and I cant afford to loose rankings at a point where I am right now :(

Don't rewrite showpost.php. You haven't built links to the individual posts so it doesnt matter if the url changes there. Once you disable rewriting of showpost add a robots.txt entry to block showposts.php.

Alternatively you can do it the prefered way and in vbseocp.php find:

Permalinks

and from the drop down menu select: Replace post number link with Permalink

That should fix your problem and remove the pages from the index.

Also you got to remember it's 4AM or earlier for a lot of people right now so give it a little bit longer than 3 hours
