    Forum just stopped working

    Hi, my licence just expired and now my forum has stopped working and I get the following message:

    Site error: the file /home/wwwchar/public_html/pokerforums/includes/functions_vbseo.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_4.4.so to be installed by the site administrator.

    I ran the testscript and it says that ioncube isn't installed

    I also can't use the admin area to turn vbseo off, I didn't want to renew the licence if its not going to work now cause ioncube has been removed?

    Or is it not working because the licence has ran out? In which case i'll happily renew it.

    this is not license related. vbseo is a lifetime product (only updates and support require a renew)

    looks like your server company messed around with the ioncube loaders, or installed a new php version on your server without telling you.

    you can manually turn off the plugin
    /includes/config_vbseo.php

    line 48

    define('VBSEO_ENABLED', 1);

    set to 0

    and rename your htacces to htaccess.txt

    I have the same problem. What hosting company are you with?

    Hello,

    looks like your host has changed configuration and ioncube is not supported anymore. You can temporarily disable vBSEO by removing (or renaming) .htaccess and includes/functions_vbseo.php files.
    Then upload test.php script, check the compatibility. Also uou might want to contact your hosting support for more details.

    I found out that cPanel had done some automatic updates to my VPS resulting in IonCube being removed. So reinstalling IonCube fixed it

    That's interesting dodjer420, not sure if this was the case for me however I have come across this error about ionCube loaders on 4 sites today. None appeared to be using vBSEO but still displayed the ionCube error about loaders. Could it be cPanel or some other update process. More than coincidental that the error is appearing on sites at about the same time period.

    edit your php.ini and before any zend line just paste the following (matching with your php version and ioncube folder path) then restart apache
    Code:
    zend_extension = /var/www/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so

    Disabling vbseo did not even help get rid of my error.

    Try renaming functions_vbseo.php to functions_vbseo.phpBak
    It may allow you to get into your forum.
