Exclamation Forum down: failed vbSEO upgrade 2.3.2 ->2.4.5

I had 2.3.2 running on my site without any problems. I couldn´t get 2.4 installed and working because of a wrong version of the ioncube loader. Now I tried to install 2.4.5, the pre-release, with the hope in this the ioncube-problem should be solved. I was wrong.

I followed the instructions, uploaded the 2.4.5-xml and installed the new ioncube-loaders. That didn´t worked - the loaders are not compatible with the one which is defined in php.ini (and I have no root access) .
So I deleted the new ioncube loaders and uploaded the old ones from the 2.3.2-package (which worked until now). After that I tried to deinstall the 2.4.5-xml - but all sites only showed up with this error message:
    PHP Code:
Fatal error:  Call to undefined function:  vbseo_complete_sec() in /home/httpd/vhosts/xxxxxxxxx.com/httpdocs/forum/includes/init.php(292) : eval()'d code on line 2
    "Houston, we have a problem.."

And that´s the point where I am now - I cannot access any of my sites, nor the admincp, nor anything else and so I cannot upload the old 2.3.2-xml , the forum is dead and a support ticket is already opened, my telephone keeps ringing and users report me that the forums were dead..

Can anyone lend a helping hand ? Any help appreciated...
    Regards,
    Marv

    Hi Holger,

I already deleted the htaccess but that changed nothing. I don´t understand why init.php isn´t working - I haven´t changed anything in init.php.. Other ideas..?
    Regards,
    Marv

    Hello Marv,

if you want to temporarily downgrade vBSEO from 2.4.5 to 2.3.2, you should uninstall current version first (remove vbseo php files and uninstall xml product in vb admincp) and then install v2.3.2 (upload files and import xml product). Do not forget to save your xml settings first and restore them after that.

I have the same issue (upgrading from 2.3.2 to 2.4) and also get the error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: vbseo_complete_sec() in /home/virtual/site9/fst/var/www/html/discussion/index.php(485) : eval()'d code on line 2

I have temporarily disabled the plugin. Is there a fix available for this?

    Hello Sifu (Sifu=WT?),

embarrassing, but I had to recognize that it was my fault. There was still a vbSEO-file left on the server that had to be deleted. After deleting the file I´ve downgraded to 2.3.2 and everything´s fine (thanks, Oleg).

So I would guess you´ld better check for undeleted vbseo-files (don´t forget the .htaccess) twice.

    HTH.

Thanks, downgrading to 2.3.2 worked for me as well.
