Can you tell me what the permissions need to be for the directory? I have a feeling that is the problem.

I deleted the .gz files - and ran the report again, only to have it take just a few seconds to say it was complete. I also made sure it said 20,000 in the "Max URLs in Sitemap Files"

one good thing is... i can now see a report that is showing up:

Should the .dat .log and index.php be deleted too?

.dat file should have 0666 permissions.

.dat was 644 - i changed it to 666

deleted the .gz files

regenerated the Site map and same results:

I think I am going to just submit a support ticket on this...
