Failed Ping

Hello,

Since I installed VBSEO - I have been getting ping failure notice with the sitemap generator.

Early on, my host company told me that it was because I was on a shared server and the set-up wouldn't allow it.

Now, i have my own dedicated server. I took it up to them again (hostdime) and they literally worked on that for 3 days to try to make it work.

They say the server is totally set up for ping now. But I still get failed messages daily.

Can you help fix that? Possible solution or options to fix that problem?

do you have
allow_url_fopen
turned on?

this should be in your php.ini file.

it will vary by your OS.

it should show up in your phpinfo() file, 5th or 6th line down... "loaded ini file" or something to that extent

It's on. I had my tech guy check it.

Still not working...

Anything else? I would really it to work...

i would suggest running it manually and then checking all your error_log files to see if something is being reported.

If there's nothing there, i'm out of ideas. :(
