Exclude Pages?

Hello,

I have password protected a directory, however vbseo always returns me to my home page when I try to visit this password protected directory.

In vbseocp, there is an area:

Exclude Pages?
Quote:
Use regular expressions here to exclude scripts and/or pages from being affected by vBSEO. This prevents rewriting as well as copyright insertion. Examples: separate multiple expressions with returns)
^index\.php\?do=feature
VBGooglemap.php
geek-gallery-popup.php
I'm assuming I would enter my directory into this field to prevent vbseo nosing around with it.

I entered it as "mydirectory" and again as "mydirectory/", but still it was thrown back to my sites home page.

Am I entering it in the wrong format?

Thank you.

Hello,

please try this suggestion from troubleshooting.txt:
Quote:
20) I have a problem accessing vB admincp: 404 error is displayed or page is redirected to forums homepage

If you have restricted access to your admincp folder using .htaccess (Auth directives), please check
your apache configuration: having "ErrorDocument 401 401.shtml" directive in httpd.conf requires that
"401.shtml" file exists. You should create one if it doesn't to solve the problem.

Thank you. After searching these forums on 401.shtml, I see you have answered this same question numerous times. I hope I haven't led you to ripping your hair out.

So how would I use the Exclude Pages? After reading this description, I thought it does the same job, but when I tried it, it didn't.

Thanks Oleg.

"Exclude Pages" option means that link on those pages will not be rewritten by vBSEO.
