    Could you offer any additional advice on why the loaders might not be working on my server. I even ran the test script provided by Ioncube and it comes up valid, but vBSEO fails to recognize or load the correct loader. I even went as far as replacing the loaders in the existing directory for ioncube provided by vBSEO so there is nothing left to luck for the vBSEO script to find the loaders.

    Here is the printout of the script from Ioncube that appears to check its own file supplied with the distribution files, and the loader appears to work.

    An ionCube Loader file is required by PHP to read files encoded with the ionCube Encoder. This page will determine how you can install Loaders on this particular server.

    An ionCube encoded file has been loaded successfully.
    Encoded files should now function correctly.

    If you have a problem with your PHP application, please contact the application provider.

    If your host is loading the ionCube loders via PHP.INI, you may have to contact them to update the version of ionCube. The PHP.INI entry will override the version in your ioncube directory.

    This is the only line in the php.ini file with any reference to ioncube or zend. Oddly enough if seems to reference both.

    zend_extension = /usr/lib/ioncube/Ioncube_loader_lin_4.3.so

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you.

    As a final test, I removed the run time directory and tested the current version referenced from the php.ini file. The results are the same. Ioncube says I have a working version that should suffice. All that is left in the supplied ioncube directory is their test (encoded) file, the test "helper" script, and the two license and readme text files; all of the loaders have been deleted. This tells me that the system is doing exactly what you described, picking up the loader from the php.ini file. Apparently it works, too.

    I have gone the extra mile...I replaced the current install directory version of the loader ioncube_loader_lin_4.3.so with the most recent version of that same file from the ioncube website. The test still passes, vBSEO still fails to work properly. Dick Tracey, I think I need a new decoder ring!

    Hello,

    since you have Ioncube installed in php.ini, you should replace the /usr/lib/ioncube/Ioncube_loader_lin_4.3.so files with most recent version from ioncube website and restart apache.

    Please let me know if that helps.

    Ok. Repeated the steps and it seems to be working now. Just had to make sure that restart was in there. I did it so many times last night, I probably lost track.
    Thank you. Appears rewriting rules are in effect.
