    Error editing css.php?

I searched but could not come up with the fix for the error:

"You don't have permission to access /forum/admincp/css.php on this server"

vBulletin.com says its an htaccess error, but the fix they posted didn't work. I remember getting this error when I installed vbseo on my other forum, but its been so long I can't remember the fix or the cause. Any help would be great

Do you have any .htaccess located on your admincp folder ? If yes can you paste the content. Also can you please check owner and group of the files within admincp ?

No htaccess file located in admincp....

As for the 2nd part of your statement, i'm not sure what you mean... if you are asking me to change the permissions of a file in the admincp, i'm not quite sure which file you are referring too... thanks

Each file has an owner and an owner group. That is defined in all computers. If somehow you or your host changed the files owner and owner group you may get that no permission error. In order to check that if you have ssh access to your server please locate admincp directory and check permissions with ls -la command or dir -la command. An example is
    Code:
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 drazil drazil 32571 Jun 26 11:55 css.php
The owner and ownergroup of css.php in my test server are both drazil. If any other user try to run this file it will get a permission error.

Also do you get this error when vBSEO is disabled ?

the vB css is CHOWNed by the webserver, as it's created by the admincp script.

you CANNOT edit this file in a regular text editor and save it. you need to do so in the vB ACP.

if you moved servers, chances are the file is still CHOWNed by the previous web server user.

Well the problem is that I just got this account at a new host. I moved it from a host i've been using for about 7 years now and have installed probably 30 vb sites there. There should be no reason for any ownership issues as its a new server on a new account with a new domain and a fresh vB install. I can't see why everything else on the entire site functions flawlessly except the css editor.

Make sure that permissions are set to 0644 for that file.
