I noticed that creating a new thread with vBSEO active takes forever.
After I click "submit new thread" the thread is immediately entered into the database, that is not the problem.
But the redirect to the new thread takes one minute or more.
For the normal user it seems that the thread is not beeing saved.
If I deactivate vBSEO it takes about 1second.
Any suggestions?

Try clearing out the "Update Services" field in your vBSEO control panel. Notifying those services can cause delays.
