circular forum/subforum linking

i have just installed vbSEO and it appears to be working fine except for subforums that have a name that is nearly identical to the parent forum.

example: forum is named EXAMPLE! (w/ an exclamation point after it) and the subforum is named EXAMPLE (sans exclamation point); when i click on the EXAMPLE subforum, its URL is rewritten the same as its parent and i cannot access that subforum by clicking on the link to it.

i am guessing that ! is an ignored character for generating the SEO URLs, advice appreciated. i could change the forum names to compensate but would rather not if possible.

cheers,
jake

well, i ended up changing the parent forum names by adding an x before and after their names. not exactly as cosmetic as i'd like, but it'll do for now.

ah, always answering my own posts on forums... if anybody would like to give me another workaround, feel free.

cheers,
jake

If you want to have same forum names then you can always add forum id to rewrite rules.
