    Chmod 666??

Ok, just bought this today and trying to install but these instructions are obviouly not for those of us who are not program wizards.

The instructions are telling me to CHMOD 666 the config_vbseo.php file. How do I do that?? I have searched these forums and several others have asked and have received very vague answers.

I need to know EXACTLY how to do this. Please help me like I am 6 years old!

    Thanks.

I read that thread and it was of no help to me. I cannot stress enough that I need some step by step help please. I have been working on this all day and am frustrated. You gave me great help on the test script, but I need it for this chmod 666 now. Please help! I am going crazy.

I get this on the when I go to the vbseo.php file in the browser

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: () in /homepages/38/d195699155/htdocs/drag chat/upload/vbseocp.php on line 506

    737pilot,

Do you use windows or linux hosting?

Are the files stored on your PC (your PC as the server) or are they located on another computer acting as a server?

If linux, and on another server, your FTP client should have a CHMOD/Permissions option when right-clicking a file. Choose that option and set to 666.

If you cannot find the option, download Smartftp from SmartFTP - FTP Client and it does have the right-click option.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you for the reply, yes linux software on a server. I right clicked the file name, then properties, then changed it to 666. but I now get this error code when I go to the vbseocp.php file in my browswer.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: () in /homepages/38/d195699155/htdocs/drag chat/upload/vbseocp.php on line 506

What does this mean and how do I fix it?! thanks for the help.

An undefined function tends to indicate a missing or corrupt file.

Try re-uploading the files. Make sure to force your FTP client to use BINARY mode, not ASCII.

If you can't find it, information on that switch should be located somewhere in your FTP program's Help file.

Thank you for the replies, I deleted all the files off of the server, then reloaded them, then changed the chmod to 666 and I still get the same error code. Any ideas? I think I am going to shove a pencil in my eye!!

Oh yeah, I do have the transfer mode in Binary.

Have you imported the product through your AdminCP?

    Hello,

the issue is similar to this one: Install issues
Make sure that you have correct vBulletin's includes/config.php file in original location.

I looked at that folder and the config.php file is in there. Is that where it's supposed to be?

As per Oleg's suggestion, check your vbulletin/includes/config.php file exists.

Then, to import the product xml, as per the install instructions:

    D. Go to your ADMIN CP > 'Plugin System' > 'Manage Products' > Click on [Add/Import Product]

    1. Browse to the 'docs' folder of the installation package and open 'crawlability_vbseo.xml', Click 'Import'.
This step must be completed prior to the configuration step.

You didn't upload the vBSEO files to your forum root. You uploaded the "upload" folder to the root of your site.

This exists, when it shouldn't: http://www.dragchat.com/upload/vbseocp.php

You need to upload the *contents* of the "upload" folder to your forum root. First step of the vBSEO installation instructions:
    A. Upload ALL the files in the 'upload' folder to your forum root folder in BINARY mode.
