Category pages not found when using .html in seo friendly url

    Hello,

I just wanted to start using categories and noticed I got a page not found. I disabled vBSEO CMS rewriting and then it does work. Tried various settings until I tried the default options, which work too.

    I'd like to use
    Code:
    category/[category_id]-[category_title].html
    instead of
    Code:
    category/[category_id]-[category_title]/
basically replacing the trailing / with .html but it results in vBulletin throwing a page not found. Any ideas what causes this?

    TIA!

You need to make sure your category urls will not conflict with any other rewrite rules.

Yeah I did that, or tried that is. Also checked for actual files/folders that might conflict. But if that would be the problem wouldn't the default options like
    Code:
    category/[category_id]-[category_title]/
fail as well? It only results in a page not found when I add the ".html" part.

Do you have something else that matches
    category/DIGITS-WORDS.html
    ?

Perhaps, pagination where the ID is.

.html and / would make it 2 different urls and not conflict.

    Yes. Pagination:
    Code:
    category/[category_id]-[category_title]-page[page].html
    Makes sense now, thanks
