Cannot View Threads - "Invalid Forum specified"

I don't know why it's happening, and I can't really find out because I can't see the code.

A few of my settings are as follows. If you need more than these, please ask.
  • Forum Path Title Bits: [forum_title]
  • Forum URL Format: [forum_path]/
  • Forum Index Page URL Format: [forum_path]/index[forum_page].html
  • Thread URL Format: [forum_path]/[thread_id]-[thread_title]/
  • Multiple Page Thread URL Format: [forum_path]/[thread_id]-[thread_title]/index[thread_page].html
I've tried enabling "RewriteBase /" in my .htaccess (the solution to the only other thread I found) but that didn't help. My vBulletin installation is in the "top" directory and there are no conflicting folders or .htaccess files.

I tried 1) putting the thread_id at the end of the URL format and 2) getting rid of the hyphen and they both work fine, but they're not exactly direct solutions.

This particular problem puzzles me - why would it think that my thread (with the thread_id in front) is a forum (with no forum_id)? This disappoints me because it was basically only for this functionality (the ease of it, at least) that I bought a vBSEO license. :(

OK, I messed with the attachment rewrite settings for a bit and this is what happened:

I enabled attachment rewrites. Attachment rewrite settings wouldn't work. The same "invalid forum specified" error came up.
I changed the thread URL format to thread_title followed by thread_id. It works, as I previously posted.

I change the attachment rewrite format to have the attachment_id last (so the extension turned out weird, but I was just experimenting). The attachments stopped working. I changed the thread URL format back to what I originally had (thread_id first, then thread_title), and now they work, but attachments don't.

I'm guessing there are conflicts that get sorted out when things are "placed" in different order, and hopefully I find the perfect combination for me. It's still a pain, though. :(

Hello,

looks like there was a conflict between attachment and thread URL formats.

But why would it do that? I thought the 'attachments/' was prepended to all attachment rewrites to ensure no conflict. I doubt that many people would have a forum called 'Attachments' too.

Also, I did some more setting-switching, and now I'm back to my original settings with everything working. My attachment and thread URL formats are pretty much the same, id-title.

I guess my own troubles are over, but if anyone else encounters this problem, just keep changing rewrite formats until they work, and change back to the original. If that doesn't work, repeat until you give up!
