Before i REINSTALL

Alright well must have been about a month ago or so that i had installed both vbseo plugin and the vbseo sitemap generator. They both worked fantastic after getting through a few problems with installing. About 2 days after installing, i go to my site and get a site not found. So i contacted my hosting, they said " I have just checked and the base directory of your account was deleted.

This can only be done via scripts on your account. Therefore I would recommend checking to make sure that you are using the latest secure versions."

Seeing as how this was the only script other then VB installed on the site at the time, makes me believe that the site was deleted from vbseo. I could however have made a mistake when installing vbseo.

So now that i have had the site up and running fine for a while i decided id take a look back into this seeing as how i spent the money on it. =P

Hi Samy,

What you describe is both very serious, and very unlikely to be related to vBSEO.

When you say "Seeing as how this was the only script other then vBulletin installed on the site at the time", you mean that you had no other vBulletin plugins? There are a few, a statistic program among them, that have been discovered to have SERIOUS security holes.

What i am saying is that the only things on the site at the time were the VB forums, and VBSEO. Yes, no other plugins were installed yet.

If it's a shared hosting account then it could be on any site on the server, not just yours. If your host responded like that and didn't look through the logs or worry at all about a possible breach of security then I would find a new host. Even the best hosts make mistakes sometimes, only the good ones admit that they have. They may have deleted the wrong account that was terminated and won't fess up.

My point is, it could be a lot of things and you need to find facts before you make decisions on what to do next. I would just set everything back up and see how it goes. As long as you have an offsite database backup and back it up daily then there is nothing to lose but labor and time.

We have never had any reported security issues like this. Perhaps your passwords may have been compromised?
