Version 2.1.1 of vBSEO installed. If I try to run the vbseocp.php script, I get a username and password login (which I assume is my vB admin username and password) ... the next screen, I get the following message: This area is password protected. I've tried all of my passwords ... read the installation docs, the troubleshooting guides, and searched the forums here ... I can't find a password for this next level ... Thanks, Greg |

It should only prompt you for the password. If you're getting asked for a username/password, then you have some type of external password protection enabled. The file goes in your Forums directory, and not your AdminCP directory.

In fact ... there is no need to even access the CP ... the install is totally automatic and seamless ... simply upload the files, upload the Product/Plugin and poof it automatically works ... No mention of a password anywhere ... no where to set a password ... These two pages are internal to the vbseocp.php script ... Greg |

The first time you run the CP, it asks you to set a password if I remember correctly. The config file needs to be set to writeable first though. Post a screenshot of the login screen you are seeing.

I was prompted to set up a password when that field was empty.

I just thought of something... When you first run the script it asks you to enter a password, then re-enter the password to verify. Are you sure you didn't mis-read it and think it was prompting for a username and password?
