"Add Titles to External Links" not working

I have enabled this feature:

Add Titles to External Links
Add Page Titles to External Links Anchor Text?
Enable this option to create keyword-rich links by adding page titles to URLs that point to external domains. vBSEO will connect to external sites when new links are posted and extract the page title from them.

NOTE: This option works ONLY with vB 3.5.x or higher

However, I've tried several links and it's not working:

For example, http:// www. vbseo. com/f77/ (spaces added) shows up as the URL instead of vBSEO SEO Plugin - Troubleshooting at vBSEO.com

Previously, I was using Title Tag Fetcher (Auto Replace URL with Titletag) - vBulletin.org Forum and that still works with vBSEO 3.2 installed. I disabled the add-on to test out the vBSEO feature, hoping I could eliminate a now unnecessary product.

Running vBulletin 3.81 PL1 with vBSEO 3.2. Please advise.

don't you have vbseo.com in "extract title blacklist" by any chance?
Does it fail with all links/domains or with some of them only?

No, actually I deleted ALL the domains from the blacklist box. I tried it with 3 or 4 URLs including the one I pasted above - none worked.

And, by the way, I then re-enabled the stand-alone add-on and it works fine.

Can you provide a temporary FTP access via support ticket for troubleshooting?

I did find a way to break the function, I think: If you use Ajax quick editing and add a URL to an existing post, it just adds the URL without the title replacement.

I wonder if this will be fixed in 3.3, since I believe there were some other Ajax issues with 2.2 (I did apply the patch, though).

That's how it's designed actually - it is enabled by default for *quick reply*, but disabled for *quick edit*.
The rationale is that when someone posts a link and doesn't expect it to be replaced with a title, he wants to quickly correct that by editing the message, but when saving it's replaced with title again.. and again. That would be quite confusing for the forum user who is not familiar with the system (we had this reported a few times before changing the behaviour).

Yes, correct.

I added a link to a post through advanced edit and the add titles to external links did not work.
