    404's Right After Installation

Uploading (binary mode!) and configuring went fine, but forum pages show 404's. When I disable the product on the vBulletin Admin Control Page, everything works fine again.

    1. Adding "Options +FollowSymLinks" at the top of the .htaccess file doesn't help.

    2. Uncommenting "RewriteBase" in .htaccess and adding /forums doesn't help.

    3. I even edited .htaccess to reflect the fact that my admincp and modcp directories have changed names for security purposes.

    4. mod_rewrite is definitely installed and ready.

I've spent a couple of hours on it and looked over everything.

    Some ideas:

    A. Is there a problem because I've renamed admincp and modcp directories?

    B. I'm still running SiteMap Generator 1.6.1 (was going to upgrade as soon as vBSEO was working).

    Any ideas?

    Hello,

please check with your host that mod_rewrite rules are allowed in .htacess files (sometimes Apache configuration should be altered to allow that).

Are your sitemap URLs working correctly? (they are using rewrite rules too)?

Yes, Sitemap has been working fine for several months.

    Any other ideas? Stuck here.

Could you please open a support ticket with ftp access to check that further?
