Same issue with a new install. Before purchasing yesterday I read that this would not no impact. This is just not the case I am sorry to say.

We run a large, very active, vBulletin site. We installed the icocube version and ran everything i the default setting per the instructions. We installed it on one of the 5 php servers that run the site for a test. On that server we went for a load of .80 to over 20 within 1 min and the server came to a crawl. Disabled the app and also renamed the .htt file and the server went right back to normal.

This is not at all what we barged for when we read...

"Are there any performance issues with vBSEO?

vBSEO was designed with performance as a top priority. vBSEO is 100% optimized for regular expressions (regex) and optimal and minimized database queries.

Most forums will have almost zero observable performance impact."
I am sorry to say that out of the box, this is not all that it said to be based on the load issues only at this time.

Please open a support ticket David. There are additional performance optimizations we have available. There may be something apparent that is causing such a load spike that our tech team can identify.

This thread is all Greek to me. Can someone explain in "dumbed down for noobs" language how to check if vBSEO is causing performance issues?

dave, my site is not nearly as big as avs (as i'm familiar with it) but my load went up from .5 to .6 on average serving approx 600 concurrent users. something must be up, as suggested.

Yes, we see 4000 to 5000 users as you know. Even now I have 4700 on-line. I run across 5 PHP servers to one very large MySQL server.

I did open a support ticket and more or less what came back was to read a thread here and do what it says. I spent 12 hours on and told them that when I opened the ticket. Not sure why they would not think I would not have checked this site and tried things.

I asked to speak with someone right from my first note to them for I knew what they would ask for, access to the servers. This I just can not do and thus is why I asked to speak with a tech who knows this thing inside and out.

At this point I am at a total loss.

Bernard: You need to be able to see your server loads either via Telnet or some control panel that your ISP provides. Or wait, just go into your ADMINCP and it will give you the current server loads. Look at the three numbers. The first one is current load and the one to watch. Watch it for awhile and figure out more or less the average. Then turn the SEO off or on depending on how it was when you were watching the load and see what the numbers do. If it was on and you turned it off, it should drop, but by how much will be the question as to how bad it can hurt or not hurt.

Our site surely is not the normal for vBulletin traffic. But I was hopeful for this software.

My CPanel reports 0.25 with 2 CPUs. I'm on a shared hosting account with 7-8 sites (of my own) under that account - 2 of which are vB forums running vBSEO (though they are just babies as far as forums go).

Where do I find it in the vB ACP? I'm not seeing it.

Right when you login...the first page...Right under Quick Administrator Links

    Server Load Averages 0.62 0.59 0.53 | 3,570 Users Online

But the loads you show with 2 others running the software does not show you would have any issue IMHO.

Thanks for the patience and quick response.

I see under the help text for the Quick Administrator Links that you have to have permission to run the "top" command on the server to see the load stats. I guess I don't have that permission since the stats don't show there. That's likely why I couldn't find them before.
