We installed SiteMaps at least six months ago I think so are we ok to disable those?
Ah... yes. You can disable it, then.
You also need to fix these issues :
- The broken individual post permalink URLs. (!important)
- No use of having 1040 calendar pages indexed. Kinda useless.
- Nearly 500 indexed urls related to /forums/post_thanks.php (majority having dupe meta tags)
- ...
For the first issue, create a new thread in this sub-forum :

For the 2nd and 3rd issues...
check if you are getting any traffic from SEs on those 2 types of pages (e.g.: in Google Analytics, if you use it)
and then decide if they are worth blocking or not. (via robots.txt)
