Zend version not working

vB 3.6.0
vBSEO 3 RC4
PHP 5.0.4
MySQL 4.1.20
Apache 2.0.52
Zend 3.0.1

The problem that I have is that the Zend version of vBSEO doesn't work. After I upload the vBSEO files to the website, the pages just don't load up. I've had the same problem in RC3 and 2.4.0 (mentioned in the ticket ID 936).

The Ioncube version works.

I'm just wondering if this is something that will be fixed in the future release of vBSEO (if we consider vBSEO is at fault), or should I simply continue to use Ioncube?

Hello,

there seems to be a compatibility issue with zend optimizer in some cases. We will be looking into this problem, although I'm not sure if we can do something to fix it.
Thank you!

Hm, guess it's a good thing I haven't had a chance to upgrade!

Apache/1.3.37
mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.24
PHP 5.1.4 (cli)
Zend Engine v2.1.0
with eAccelerator v0.9.5-rc1
with Zend Extension Manager v1.0.10
with Zend Optimizer v3.0.1

Can I be kept up to date on this via the support panel (should I submit my own?)?

We will update this thread if the reason/workaround will be found for this issue.

Just from what I have now dealt with, and input from here, the NOC at my server company, and from what I have read, the issue is not vbseo. It seems that issues are coming up for people using eaccelerator and APC cache when using php5. Not everyone has the problems, and for me, it affected two of my forums, and never harmed the other forums, all on the same server.

I was advised to downgrade to php 4.4.4, which I did and things worked great. Forums working very rapidly. I am using zend optimizer 3.0.1, and the latest eaccelerator that is compatitibel with php 4.4.4

I am on a VPS, and was advised by the NOC that the servers seemed to running with less problems, and faster with 4.4.4, than any version of php5.

To add to this, I temporarily uninstalled vbseo after these problems occured, and the issues remained for the errors that I was getting.

PHP5 does have some issues with APC, but should work fine with eAccelerator.
