Yahoo auto submit dead?

I'm not sure if anyone who are currently running on Sitemap Generator v1.7 but every time I check the sitemap on Yahoo, it hasn't been submitted already. I have to submit each time to Yahoo myself when it's supposed to do that automatically. I assume there is an issue somewhere with the autosubmit feature in v1.7. It seems to work just fine on Google for me.

Any ideas?

It may be because Yahoo has changed their Application IDs. Try creating a new Application ID.

I just checked two of my sites and they are both still working fine with my same old App. ID.

My App IDs are simple though, just letters and an underscore, no spaces or any other special characters.

The app id function on yahoo! will let you put in an invalid ID and not tell you. The app ID will appear and then when you use it it will say the ID don't exist.

I dunno if that's the problem, but it happened to me with a dash IIRC.

On another note, yahoo! reads google sitemaps now and I have edited the functions to report to yahoo! accordingly.

Will this be changed in the next sitemaps release?

Well my application ID is "ffforums". As you can see, I have no dots, commas, special characters or anything like that...

Yes, in the next vBSEO Sitemap Generator version both text and xml sitemaps will be pinged for Yahoo.

1.7RC4 was released before Yahoo supported Google-Style sitemaps, so it doesn't submit those to Yahoo yet.

Also I am unsure about my Yahoo sitemap URL so how do I find it? Sorry for the dumb question.

Go to your vBSEO Sitemap menu, View Reports, and View Details on the latest entry. It will show you links to your sitemaps that you can right-click and Copy Shortcut.

I don't think I can do that because whenever I try to login, it says the login are incorrect. Do I have to input the password on my forum's account?

The password is the one you defined in your AdminCP->vBulletin Options->vBSEO Sitemap Options

Okay it's working now. So the URL to Yahoo's sitemap URL is at:

http://www.finalfantasyforums.net/urllist.txt.gz

Isn't that correct?
