white page when trying to access sitemap

Alrighty so here goes, I have installed vbSEO sitemap generator 3.0 [gold] onto two of the forums I administer. One of the sites it went without any problem what-so-ever. The second however didn't go so smoothly. Everytime I try to access the sitemaps reports via adminCP or direct link I simply get a plain white page. No error....nothing at all.

I have it set up to email me everytime the sitemap is generated, and I get those from both forums [with all relevant information included within]. Also all of the .gz files are in the data folder.

The folders have the correct permissions set on them within the directory structure, and I am positive I installed the mod correctly. I even went as far as to re-install it again just to make doubly sure I did everything correctly.

My other concern is that I have purchased vbSEO [full suite] and I am wondering if the sitemap generator would hinder the full vbSEO in any way after I install it?

Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello, welcome to vBSEO!.

Seems that you are receiving a 500 error you are not seeing. Is there a .htaccess file inside "vbseo_sitemap/" folder?, do you have 'display_errors' directive enabled on your PHP config.?.

Thank you for the welcome Andres.

No I do not have a htaccess file inside the vbseo_sitemap folder, I was under the impression that particular file had to be in forum root. I looked in the other forum and there is no htaccess file in the vbseo_sitemap folder and it works properly.

And I actually have no "display_errors" set in the config.php. I'm not very versed in php [I originally helped out just to administer the forum itself not mods/plug-ins and so forth, but have recently stepped up on other fronts to help out] so I'm not sure if it has to be added seperately or if it's supposed to be there and commented back in.

I came into this forum halfway through it's life so there have been a few admins before me. They also did a change recently from phpBB to vBulletin. Don't know if that has anything to do with this problem.

Thanks for your intitial response to this problem and I hope this can get resolved. I been at this for days now and am at a loss.

First, please try re-ftping all files again to make sure that all files were uploaded completely.

If this doesn't work, find your error_log file (usually available in your control panel), and hit the page and see if an entry is recorded for your hit. If there's still nothing, please open a ticket with login details so we can investigate further.

    Thanks for you response Brian.

This is the error I get from cpanel when I try to access the vbseo sitemap via adminCP

    Code:
[Mon Nov 29 19:56:06 2010] [error] [client 69.115.216.186] SoftException in Application.cpp:610: Directory "/home/hackin5/public_html/forum/vbseo_sitemap" is writeable by others, referer: http://www.********.com/forum/admincp/index.php?do=nav
Wow nevermind, I had the vbseo_sitemap folder set as 777, changed to 755 all is well

It did say here in the instructions though:
    Code:
    A. Upload ALL the files and folders within the 'upload' folder to your forum root folder.
    1. CHMOD 777 the 'forum-root/vbseo_sitemap/data/' folder
But it seems your supposed to keep the vbseo_sitemap folder 755 and make the data folder 777, figured it wouldn't make a difference if it was just all 777.

At any rate....glad it's fixed and....Thanks so much guys for all your responses!!!

Yes, just the data folder (and /hits) should be writable. That is what that instruction points to
