vbSEO Sitemap - Google Setup

I'm trying to add a general sitemap to google, and am stuck at this step...

3. My Sitemap URL is:

I enter this

domain.com/forums/vbseo_sitemap/data/sitemap_index.xml.gz


It says that doesn't work... that the sitemap must be at the domain.com level... How do I set this up?

you should add www.domain.com/forums/ as a new site and submit sitemap as:
www.domain.com/forums/sitemap_index.xml.gz

That seemed to work... I'll wait and see if that works... Google says it may take up to a few hours...
