    go into your ftp right click on the directory where the sitemap files are to be written and it will open a permissions check boxes and make sure that they are writable.

    Thanks for both of U.

    It is already in CHMOD 777 only. I had checked it.

    When i click the "The directory the sitemap files are to be written into is not writeable. Please change the permissions on the path to be writeable by the web server or enter a different path in the sitemap options." link it goes to the page which i attach with this

    That's vBulletin sitemaps not vbseo sitemap generator, You should disable vBulletin sitemap because it will not pickup vBSEO'ed URLs, Use vBSEO sitemap generator only.

    vb4 only.
    settings->options->xml sitemap
    Enable Automatic Sitemap Generation?
    set to no

    It should also be noted that 2.6 is a deprecated version at this point in time. you should upgrade to 3.0

    Yeah I have the 3.5 I think already installed I was just getting an error from vbulletin saying that the The directory the sitemap files are to be written into is not writeable. Please change the permissions on the path to be writeable by the web server or enter a different path in the sitemap options.

    How do I know that the vbseo sitemap is working and how do I find the url of it :-)

    Thanks

    sitemap 3.5 doesn't exist.

    vbseo 3.5 doesn't include the sitemap generator. the vbseo sitemap generator is a separate product, currently at version 3.0.

    you should have 3 menu items under the vbseo header item in the adminCP if the sitemap is installed.

    Please review the readme file in the download which contains installation instructions. you need to chmod the downlaods.dat file to 666 and make sure the data/folder is chmod 777.
