Hi,

I'm having a little difficulty with the modification that was released over at vB.org. Normally I would ask for help there but my post would probably get lost in that topic without being seen.

Anywho, I'm certain the mod isn't working for me. I've followed the installation instructions to the T but haven't noticed any difference (I'm certain I'm still using the default sitemap).

Any help would be appreciated.

Edit/ Just noticed my archive URL's look like this: website/archive/index.php/f-4.html, that can't be right, can it?

think it reads the sitemap.xml

The Google/Yahoo sitemap is different from your vBulletin archive.

The sitemap is just a series of XML and/or text files that the search engines read directly. They contain a list of all the pages on your site that should be added to the search engine index.

Our vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator will not effect your archive.

FYI It looks like there are various URLs to use to access your forums. You would benefit from having vBSEO installed to improve your SEO.

I'm not sure if you have noticed or not - but I do have vBSEO installed. My query is how to get the vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator to work correctly on my site as at the moment it doesn't appear to be.

Steve, to get vB SEO Sitemap Generator working correctly doesnt mean that it will make any changes to your forum at all. All this modification does is collect all URLs listed on your site into one file in an appropiate format for Google to read and digest. You can create your Sitemap by visiting your ./vbseo_sitemap/ URL. Or by waiting for your Scheduled Task manager to automatically create the file and send it to Google.

Although I am certain something is wrong - even when I disable the mod my archive URL's still appear incorrectly. Notice the index.php/ part in the link below? I'd like that to display correctly if possible.

Your archive looks like it is rewriting ok. Did you set your Rewrite Archive Root setting to /archive/ or /sitemap/ in your vBSEO Admin CP?
