VB Seo clarification / manual?
Hey there,

I installed VB Google/Yahoo Sitemap add-on last week. I am looking in my data directory and see sitemap_xxx.xml.gz files (over 500 of them @ 20,000 per file setting). I don't know that this finished though? All the files are dated 11/29. I only see a progress.dat file, no download.dat like I have seen mentioned in various threads here.

So I guess my question is, how do I know if this sitemap completely finished or not? Also, I am trying to set up the URL in Google Sitemap but it 404s me, I am assuming because the "sitemap_index.xml.gz" files doesn't exist because the sitemap process possibly never finished?

Any guidance appreciated.

Hello Deron,

you should see the list of all successfull sitemap generations in vbseo_sitemap/ interface. You could also manually execute generator there and see if it finished successfully.

You should remove vbseo_sm_downloads.php from your addons list in vBSEO Sitemap generator options as it seems to cause db error.

The file_cats table is part of the "Downloads" hack.

I removed vbseo_sm_downloads.php (from admincp options) and tried to re-run it and got the same error.

Please also try to remove vbseo_sm_downloads.php file from addons folder.

Now I get the same message for the other addon:

What exactly do these specific addons do?

That one is for vBadvanced CMPS. If you're not running CMPS, remove that file as well.
