Greetings. I have vbseo. I installed the vbseo sitemap generator from vb.org. It installed ok and all the steps seem done. What is the actual url of the sitemap I should add in Google Sitemaps? This is not mentioned clearly in the vb.org thread. All other instructions are ok but the url to be added into Google Sitemaps is not mentioned. I added
http://www.myforum.com/vbseo_sitemap...temap_1.xml.gz
but Google gives the following error:

Unsupported file format
Your Sitemap does not appear to be in a supported format. Please ensure it meets our Sitemap guidelines and resubmit.

I also don't see any http://www.myforum.com/sitemap.xml generated by the sitemap generator. Please help.

your site map is located at yourname.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz
as long as you have the rewrite rules for this in your hta file.

i dont see this file in the folder what do i need to do?

Hello Steve,

sitemap files are physically stored in vbseo_sitemap/data/ folder, you need mod_rewrite rules entered in .htaccess file as described in readme to access them via forums root.
