Trying to save changes to setup sends me back to log in

    Hi,

I log in to vbseo.php successfully, and am presented with the main page. However, when I click to save, it takes me back to the login page and prompts be to enter my password (if I enter the password and continue, the changes aren't saved).

Recently I had need to change the password, and did this by setting a blank password in config_vbseo.php, eg:

    define('VBSEO_ADMIN_PASSWORD','')

Next time I logged in, I was prompted to set a new password, and the config file now has a new pass stored.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the problem that I now have? Was this the correct method of changing the admin pass?

    Thanks,

    Wade

Please make sure your vbseo/resources/xml/config.xml file is in chmod 666 state or your web server has correct privileges to update the file

It appears you're using an older version, so the path above is just includes/config_vbseo.php

I think we may have a bad installation, and we'd like to try to reinstall. Is there a way to backup our set-up data, since we can't use the control panel itself without getting logged out? Is there a way to manually copy the configuration content we need from the file?

The raw config php file is your setting file. You can save that locally, then re-upload after the fact, and upon visiting vbseocp.php, it will import the settings automatically.
