    The story of two webservers

We have vbseo installed on two servers - load balanced with the same content. One server runs on Litespeed enterprise, which duly takes care of .htaccess the apache way.

The 2nd server runs nginx + httpd. All static files are designed to be served by nginx and all works well. However vbseo attachments now won't work on the nginx + httpd server. I get 404 errors for all of them. When I switch to the litespeed server, all is well.

    Any way to fix this?

    Hello,

if you have attachments server by nxginx+httpd server, then you should either disable Attachments rewrite option in vBSEO CP or define rewrite rules on that server as well.

Can you clarify what do you mean by "or define rewrite rules on that server as well." ? Any problems with disabling attachments rewrite option? I believe it will then be disabled across all servers - which is not a problem though.

There are special rewrite rules for nginx in vBSEO package that you can apply on your second server in nginx configuration to handle rewritten URLs. In your case it probably makes sense to simply disable attachment rewrites though.

Oleg, thanks - that makes sense. I found that I could stop customavatars from being rewritten, how can I do the same for regular avatars?

There is an option to rewrite Avatar URLs in vBSEO CP, you can disable it.

Oleg, I can only find the "custom avatar" rewrite option - stated as "Rewrite Custom Avatar URLs?"

Is there a separate setting for the other avatars?
