Sitemaps not being recieved by Google?

Hi There,

I am totally new to Sitemaps and vBSEO, I need some assistance getting my sitemaps plugin functioning...

I have installed the plugin fine, and can see files being created in the /data directory, however I unerstand these are supposed to be automatically submitted to google? when I look in my google webmaster tools account there is a message saying:

You have not submitted any Sitemaps. Submit a Sitemap to help Google discover page...

Have I missed something, or is this normal?

Google is pinged automatically by vBSEO Sitemap Generator, but you should submit them manually in order to see them in webmaster account.

So when manually submitting, should I use the "sitemap_index.xml.gz" link in the ROOT vB folder?
