    You should use the sitemap index as that includes sitemap_1, sitemap_2, etc.

    Delete everyting in webmaster tools
    load sitemap_index.xml.gz as your sitemap

    the sub files will load automatically.

    sir i delete every thing from wmt
    and submit again sitemap_index.xml.gz
    but again it is inactive

    That shows that the sitemap was last downloaded on the 17th (2days ago)... You could try clicking the "Resubmit" button but it may still take google a few hours to a day to download it again.

    I'm having the same issue as the OP. I don't really see an answer to his issue.

    If I submit the sitemap_1.xml.gz file, it works, but not the index file.
