| Sitemap status with google is "Error"
Sitemap status with google is "Error" Unsupported file format Your Sitemap does not appear to be in a supported format. Please ensure it meets our Sitemap guidelines and resubmit. Could this be because it's not being sent to the correct url to the sitemap? Because it said I submitted one in January of 2006 and I have no recollection of that lol.       |

What is the sitemap URL that shows in your Google Webmaster account? It should be: http://www.gamingvidz.com/forum/sitemap_index.xml.gz

It says I have to create a new url to GamingVidz.com in order to do it. Should I be doing my sitemap differently though? (I use vBadvanced on the home page)

You can put these lines into the .htaccess in your root directory (If you already have a RewriteEngine On line, don't repeat it. Just add the other line.): Code: RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^((urllist|sitemap_).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ forum/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L] Then, go to your vBSEO Sitemap menu and manually generate the sitemap. Then you should be able to submit your sitemap as: http://www.gamingvidz.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz

Ok cool. Yah, so you would highly recommend doing it the way you just described as opposed to the way I would have done it through the forum? (Because I'm using vBadvanced?) |
