Sitemap Not Found Can't Find Index File

hmm, i've added a / so now the htaccess file ends like this /vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L], prior to that it was missing a / in front of vbseo_sitemap. Now I can access the sitemap by this url myforum.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz however i get 404 error not found in webmasters tools.

I even transferred sitemap_index.xml.gz to the root folder of the forum and tried submitting it to webmasters tools. Still same errors.

In order to troubleshoot this further we will need to know and see the actual url in action.

i think its working now, still waiting on pending download. Apparently i only had to add additional / in the htaccess files of forum root and data folder..strange
