Sitemap Errors

I thought I had it right this time but I guess not. I tried to submit my sitemap to google again and got errors. However it did not tell me what the errors were!

So how am I suppose to fix them?
I click on the links that show errors and they take me to a page that doesnt show me what the errors are.

Do you have custom URLs entered in extra-urls.txt ?

No extra urls in the text file.

You know what, I checked again this morning and now Google says the site map is OK.

Pretty weird but it works for me! LOL

Couple more questions....

Would be it recommend to turn on the "Ping Google" Function within the sitemap or leave this off?

Lastly, how do I submit a map to Yahoo? The page given to me doesnt work: http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit/

It is ok to have ping option enabled, although Google will download sitemap files automatically if you have them tracked in webmaster account.

The URL to submit Yahoo sitemap is correct, I believe that you must be logged in to yahoo account to access it.

Click on the yahoo link, It takes you to an error page, when when I am logged into my account. You sure about that?

Also, once i finally figure out how to get to yahoo to submit, what happens if my URL list is longer than 10,000? Will they take the first 10k or refuse it all together?

I couldn't find any official details on how do they handle large sitemap files.
