Post Problem with Sitemap!

I looked at almost every errorr thread here and none of them helped. I have the latest version of vBSEO sitemap generator and i have CHMOD all the files in the vbseo_sitemap folder to 777.

My problem is that the url: http://www.myforum.com/sitemap_index.xml.gz

Doesnt exist.Whenever i cilick it it says not found. Google cant find my sitemap and Yahoo neither. The only thing i can do is manually move the sitemap from the data folder (cos thats where its created everytime) to the forum root. But thats kinda stupid right ?

I would really appreciate some help.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

did you create .htaccess file in the forums root as described? (also make sure that your host supports mod_rewrite)

Hello,

please make sure that your host supports mod_rewrite (you can contact your hosting support to find out).

Im having the same problem. Is there more support for this issue. If I can get this worked out I plan on buying the vbseo software.

I also called my host and they said they do support mod_rewrite but they dont configure it. Can you guys help me with this if infact that is my problem.

Are you able to get any (testing) rewrite rule to work in .htaccess to make sure that mod_rewrite works correctly on your host?
