Problem with print

Having a problem that we had on vbseo 2.4 and now 3.0. I thought 3.0 would fix it, but it didn't. Basically, any thread that ends with the word print is shown as print view. I believe this is vbseo related. Any ideas?

Hello Wizard,

Do you have any CRRs defined using the word 'print'?

Do you have 'Rewrite Print Thread Pages' turned on? If so, do you have [thread_id] at the end of the Rewrite setting?

Sorry, not to vbseo savvy. How would I check for both of those?

In your /forumroot/vbseocp.php - Configure all your settings there.

CRR - Custom Rewrite Rule
Printthread Rewrites are in there somewhere too. CTRL-F should find them, just search for Print.

Did you expand the URL Rewrite Settings view by clicking the + ?

The setting is likely hidden. Please check again and post your Printthread URLs settings.

Hm, nope, didn't expand the URL rewrite settings.

Also, I can't find the word print anywhere in vbseo.php ... other than in the name of a gif file.

Any ideas?

Aha! Ok, I see this in printthread:
Rewrite Printthread URLs? = Yes
Add rel="nofollow" to the Printthread links? = Yes
'Printthread' URL Format = [forum_title]/[thread_id]-[thread_title]-print.html
Multiple Page 'Printthread' URL Format = [forum_title]/[thread_id]-[thread_title]-[thread_page]-print.html

So, pretty obvious that's the issue I think. Can I change the format to:

Actually, they all end in -print.
[forum_path]/[thread_id]-[thread_title]-print.html
[forum_title]/[thread_id]-[thread_title]-print.html
forum[forum_id]/thread[thread_id]-print.html
[thread_id]-[thread_title]-print.html

So, I would need to define a custom one, right? Something I noticed about this thread is it is: Problem with print ... the number was appended to the end.

Thank you Ace

No problem.

And yes, adding the [thread_id] to the end of the setting will fix it.

Ok. By doing this... the only thing I risk is people losing their bookmarks if they had a thread bookmarked, right? Well, I guess it would only be the printable version.

So, my PrintThread URL Format would be this (custom): [forum_title]/[thread_title]-print-[thread_id].html

And, Multiple Page 'Printthread' URL Format would be:
(custom)
[forum_title]/[thread_title]-[thread_page]-print-[thread_id].html

- Right? Thanks again

That's right, in both cases.
