Ping problem?
I've installed the sitemap on two different sites. One site, both the yahoo and google ping thingee is ok.

On the other site, the yahoo ping is successful but the google ping fails.

Any idea why? :(

Hello Peggy,

are you able to open google sitemap files (sitemap_index.xml.gz/sitemap_1.xml.gz) in browser from your second site?
Please try to add them in google webmaster account and check if there are any errors.

I'm sorry Oleg, it is the Yahoo ping that keeps failing, not google. I resubmitted the site.

We noticed that yahoo pings fail if you have spaces, dots (or may be other special characters) in Yahoo App ID. Please try to create another app id without special characters and see if that helps.

And where would you find this app? I just installed it and am getting yahoo failed too , google is fine..

Yes, make sure that you have Yahoo pings preformed successfully after sitemap is generated.

Well I ran sitemap again and yahoo ping is still failing no dashes or nothing in name just letters..

Is google ping working correctly though? Please open a support ticket with ftp access for troubleshooting.
