I dont know what line 14 is because when I got to view it via the link about it tells me the same thing

Hm.. the file contents looks strange. Could you please try to re-generate the sitemap manually?

Re: Parsing Error in first sitemap

I got a parsing error in my sitemap_1 as well. How can I change the directory to root (if that solved the issue)

Re: Parsing Error in first sitemap

Hello Jay,

this problem seems to be related to the forum "links" defined. Please try to exclude the with the following code modification of vbseo_sitemap_functions.php file.
FIND:
Quote:
$dprune = $forumcache[$forumid]['daysprune'];
ADD ABOVE:
Quote:
if($forumcache[$forumid]['link'])continue;
And re-generate your sitemap.

Ah, ok. You should FIND this line:

Still showing the same parsing error on the same line (38). Any other ideas? This has only happened in the last 2 days and the software has been running happily for a few weeks.

Re: Parsing Error in first sitemap

Ok - narrowed this down and it is to do with some internal links I have set up in VB that the XML parser doesn't like. I have added a 'link' to each category name that will display new posts within that category.

EG:

Code:
http://www.yorkshire-divers.com/forums/search.php?do=getnew&include=27,34,77,80
This then brings back any new posts in those numbered forums since the user last logged in.

Any help on how to get past this? I may have to code these links into the dynamic menu drop down for New Posts but would prefer to run it this way for the meantime

Re: Parsing Error in first sitemap

I have updated the link code to
Code:
search.php?do=getnew&include=27,34,77,80
so it displays properly but it won't parse - doesn't seem to link the numbers at the end.

Re: Parsing Error in first sitemap

[RESOLVED]

I have removed the offending links and written a secy drop down menu on the navbar instead. Am re-submitting revised sitemaps to ensure it now works.
