No reports and Sitemaps not updating

I installed the sitemaps recently and it appeared to install fine and generated the sitemaps without any errors. However after the sitemap files were initially generated they do not appear to be updating. Checking the the files on the server they are still the same files with dates from the day they were created initially and haven't updated at all.

There also is no reports or info when I go to the "Show Reports List" page and I have not been getting any emails.

The sitemaps is listed in the Scheduled Tasks but whenever I go to run the Sitemaps manually either from the Scheduled Tasks page or from the VBseo Sitemaps "Run Sitemap Generator" link it just gives me the following message:

    vBSEO Sitemap Generator
[SECTION START] groups [3,601.3Kb mem used] [1,810,127s (+1,810,021s)]
[create sitemap index] filename: sitemap_index.xml.gz, number of sitemaps: 9 [3,604.0Kb mem used] [1,810,127s (+0s)]
And yes the Data folder is set to 777.

Any idea how I can fix this so it is updating properly?

    Thanks!

Disabling the Text Yahoo option seems to have fixed it for me.

The reports are showing and when running the sitemap generator it actually finishes properly now.

Glad to hear your sitemap is up and running.

Are you considering upgrading to the full vBSEO maxed out installation Andrew? Anything we can help you with?

Yes I am considering upgrading to the full vbseo installation. I am a little concerned however that the rewrite rules may potentially add a lot of load to the server, the forums to which it would be applied has about 3million posts, 150k threads and is fairly active I fear that when using all the rewrite rules on a large scale it might cause a lot of increased server load. Is this really an issue or am I just being paranoid?

The amount of content is not an issue. You could have 10 billion posts and that would never contribute!

It's the usage and server capabilities that factor in. Are you on a dedicated now? How is the speed of your forum?

One of our customers was at one time the most heavily trafficked vBulletin powered forum in the world and he ran without any issues. We have many highly trafficked servers running on a single server setup.

We have run into issues in the past in isolated cases. There are usually two reasons this might happen:

    1) Shared hosting overloaded with too many sites causing a slow down of the server long before vBSEO is installed. Note: If your server is "at or near its maximum capacity already", then there could be additional issues with vBSEO. Otherwise, no problem.

    2) A dedicated server with some kind of misconfiguration. There millions of different configurations possible. There are times when certain setups have given us trouble. When this occurs the vBSEO Total Support Team will dig in and help with the troubleshooting.

For your peace of mind, if you purchase and for any reason at all we cannot get your forum to work at a satisfactory level of performance of vBSEO, we'll refund you.

However, I do not expect that to happen. Give it a try. The benefits if successful are going to be well worth it.

This is good to hear as I am having a serious server load issue and at this point unable to use vBSEO due to server loads. I did open a ticket and the issue has pretty much been ignore I hate to say.

So, I opened this thread. I hope we can get this fixed. I really want to use the product.

    Rediculous Server Loads with vBSEO...

I should mention I am on a dedicated server that runs around a load of 1 normally.

    Thanks,
    Miguel

Yes - I think staff asked you to try the optimizations first. However, if you are still experiencing a significant issue, please re-open your ticket emphasizing that the tips did not create an improvement. Then they can start troubleshooting. With such a significant rise in load, I suspect a misconfiguration of some sort on your server.
