New install problem Sitemap

Using the latest versino of the software, no issues in running. However the sitemaps are created in

4WinMobile.com - The Windows Mobile Site!/forums/vbseo_sitemap/data whereas the vBSEO Sitemap Reports section of the site shows them listed as http://www.4winmobile.com/sitemap/sitemap_index.xml.gz as per the settings I've defined.

However the sitemap directory is completely empty, so:

- Any ideas how I get the sitemaps where I want them?
- Are they beinf submitted to Google despite being in the 'wrong' place?

Any help appreciated.

Hello,

your sitemap URL should be forums/sitemap_index.xml.gz.
Perhaps you've defined "Sitemap Files URL" setting in Sitemap Generator options in vB admincp? It should be left empty.

Yes the "Sitemap Files URL" setting was filled in, but even if I run it with that blank the files are still created in the 'data' directory and not in forums/sitemap_index.xml.gz.

Any ideas?

Sitemap files are always stored in the data/ folder, but acessed via http://yourforumsroot/sitemap_index.xml.gz using the rewrite rule in .htaccess file.

Replied to your support ticket (default .htaccess should be used).
