I think I will just drop them. 100 per month isn't much for the risk involved.

This brings up the whole question of "link moderation" and what that is for. Does it have to do with not getting unrelated links put on the site by spammers? And if so, how do you know if you have any on your site?

That's correct. Our LinkBack moderation system is designed to block non-relevant links, or any other that you choose not to publish. Linkback moderation is done from within your vBulletin AdminCP.

    Update

I removed the paid text links from the bottom of my pages as well as filed a 2nd "request for reconsideration" and now 48 hours later I have my page rank back for my 2 search terms that I used as reference points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My number of Google visitors per day doubled. It isn't back to where it was but that may just be a seasonal thing as my forum is an outdoors one that drops in summer.

Great. Well - this directly demonstrates that your paid links were causing the problem.

Bookmark this thread, and please link to it whenever you see someone discuss running non-relevant links on their site to help them avoid these same catastrophic penalties.

you never guess it: i have the same problem posted here:
    visitors decreasing - help

Since yesterday i hired a seo technician and the first thing he said to remove 5 links in the footer and guess more: it wore exactly the same 5.

I almost sure this would be the cause because the start date of those ads is about the same of my drop in google.

len backus: you had ads paid by ZMTC? So good advise. Do not buy links of them.

Be very careful with any paid links. Google does not like them. As they find more accurate methods of detecting them, we will see more and more penalties.
