    When I upload .htaccess, I get 500 error

    I get an 'error code 500' when I upload .htaccess!

    I re-uploaded all the file and tried all 4 different .htaccess files.

    I get the following error when I upload an .htcaccess file:

    Error 500 - Internal server error

    An internal server error has occured!
    Please try again later.

    My host is 1and1.com

    Error 500 when I upload .htaccess

    I have tried everything and my froums dont work after I upload any of the 4 .htaccess files.

    Any ideas?

    please check with your host that mod_rewrite is supported in your server and rewrite rules are allowed in .htaccess.
