    Hello All

I checked my google sitemap page the other day, and all sitemaps across both of my websites are on error.

    Internal Server Error

On my 2nd site, i just get the instant 500 internal server error, without none of the above???

This all happened after I changed from ioncube to zend.

Nothing else has changed as far as im aware.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Paul

    The error log shows:

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: ZendFastCGI
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 1
    Date: 13/02/2007
    Time: 11:25:06
    User: N/A
    Computer: WEB
    Description:
    Can not read response from C:\Program Files\Zend\Core\bin\php-cgi.exe - [109]

It's a Windows Server 2003 box with IIS6. We run several other .php sites (forums & ecommerce stores) which all work absolutely fine with php-cgi.exe so maybe it's something to do with trying to create the actual .gz compressed archive file (which is unique to vbseo sitemap) that is causing it?

    Thanks

    Paul

Probably the script simply times out. Please try to increase max_execution_time setting in php.ini and timeout setting for scripts in IIS config.

The script execution time is set to 30 secs. The error happens almost instantly

The error occurs since the host moved to using Zend Core (which installs PHP 5.2.1 RC2) and to the Zend version of vbseo.

    Thanks

    Paul

You can try to execute vbseo_sitemap.php from command line and check its output.

Running it from the command line just opens it in text editor or IE depending on which application is specified for the .php extension?

I have noticed that when we try to run the generator the .txt log file gets created ok - it seems to error just before it creates the actual .gz sitemap itself.

I suppose you have IIS server, you should associate php files with php.exe command line interpreter.

Actually, this is happening to me as well. I have the vbseo sitemaps on both of my sites. For the past week or so, only one site is getting pinged.

I'm not sure where to look to see if there's a problem?

Do you mean that sitemap is not generated on you 2nd site? If so, please try to create it manually via vbseo_sitemap/ interface.

I'm assuming that it's not generating, since I'm not receiving the email.

Um... how do I get to the vbseo_sitemap/ interface?

    Thank you Keith.

Ok I got it to work. And today it generated it's own site map again - but once again, yahoo is failing.

    I got this email -

Well the good news is that this works - the .gz sitemap file get created successfully - thank you.

The event log lists the following error each time it is run though:

Most importantly we do now have a way of creating the sitemaps as I can create a batch file to run the script. Is it possible to still get it to automatically ping Google form the batch file though?

    Thanks
